Maintains all records connected to processing payroll, files tax returns and reports of voluntary deductions, processes involuntary deductions like levies and garnishments, prepares accounting transactions and documentation, documents and updates procedures, and creates special management reports. The incumbent is the only person in charge of all payroll-related tasks. This role closely collaborates with the Chief Financial Officer to carry out all the required financial management and fiscal control policies and procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assuring that all employee payroll is processed promptly, in compliance with applicable labor laws and accounting standards.
- Creates systems and procedures that govern the gathering, computation, and entry of pay data.
- Ensures the security protocols.
- Maintains a current handbook of procedures for processing payrolls.
- Maintains current knowledge of applicable laws and payroll tax requirements related to the processing of employee wage data, including as payroll taxes, employee federal and state income and social security taxes, and other mandatory reporting.
- Processing and reconciling financial year-end reports to ensure accuracy.
- Processes wage garnishments, pay levies, and other court-ordered involuntary payments promptly.
- For technical problems with time-reporting systems, works with the current pay provider to fix any disparities brought on by bugs or malfunctions in the time-reporting gear.
- Helps employees with general inquiries about Payroll Finance, accrued leave, wage deductions, fringe benefits, and other pay-related issues.
- Attends seminars, online training, and workshops to increase their understanding of systems.
- Reports on payroll on a regular basis as necessary and helps with financial audits involving pay records and related general ledgers Payroll Finance.
- Collaborates closely with the CFO, HR Officer, and management to analyze payroll expenditures by department and cost center in order to support the annual budgeting process.
- Performs accounts payables and data entry tasks.
- Maintains and files employee payroll records.
- Creates a computer report on the Chief Financial Officer’s payroll activity.
- Helping the accountant with data entry and report drafting for clinic operations.
- Carrying out other tasks as directed by the chief financial officer.
Qualifications:
- Ability to multi-task performance and keep cool under pressure.
- Computer literacy ranging from intermediate to advanced, including knowledge of payroll systems.
- Knowledge of standard bookkeeping, accounting, and file techniques and processes, as well as modern office practices and related technology.
- High levels of outstanding interpersonal and customer service abilities, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to interact with a variety of people from different backgrounds.
Education and Work Experience:
- A minimum bachelor degree from any reputed university (private/ public) with a decent CGPA.
- Accounting courses, associate degrees will get preference.
- Requires 1 – 2 years of payroll accounting experience.
