Executive Search in Bangladesh for Foreign Companies
As an executive search firm in Bangladesh, we fill senior and C-level roles through a retained, confidential process: we map the market, approach people who are not job-hunting, and assess them against a brief you sign. We can then employ your chosen hire through our employer of record service, so no local company is needed.
What Executive Search in Bangladesh Involves
Executive search is not advertising a vacancy. The country managers, finance directors and heads of operations you need in Dhaka are usually employed elsewhere and not reading job boards.
So we define what the role must deliver in its first year, map who does that work in comparable companies, approach those people confidentially and manage the offer through to the start date. We never circulate your brief, and we tell you exactly who we approached.

Who Needs Executive Search in Bangladesh?
Search costs more than posting a role. Consequently it only makes sense in specific situations. These are the ones where companies come to us.
No Team Here Yet
A foreign company opening in Bangladesh needs its first senior hire — usually a country manager who will build everything after them.
Replacing Someone
The incumbent is still in the seat. The search cannot be visible, to your market or to your own staff.
A Role With Few Candidates
Regulated finance, compliance, plant leadership or a technical function where the whole national pool is small enough to name.
The Last Attempt Did Not Work
A previous hire left inside a year. The brief usually needs rewriting before the search is run again.
Roles We Run Searches For
These are the seats we are asked for most often. Below this level a pool of active applicants usually exists, and permanent staffing is the cheaper route.
How Does Executive Search Work in Bangladesh?
We run every search the same way, and you receive a written deliverable at each stage, so you can see the work rather than take it on trust.
Role Brief
We agree the deliverables, reporting line, budget authority and pay range in writing.
Market Map
We map where this work is done in Bangladesh before we approach anyone.
Approach
We approach candidates one to one, in confidence, and report every decline.
Shortlist
We interview against the signed brief and check references on the finalist.
Offer & Start
We manage the offer, counter-offers and notice period through to day one.
We Find Your Executive and Employ Them for You

Choosing the candidate is only half the job. They still need a compliant contract, correct payroll and the statutory registrations that come with being an employer in Bangladesh.
A recruitment agency cannot provide that, and setting up a company for one hire is slow and expensive. As your employer of record, we employ the person legally on your behalf and run their payroll, while you direct their work. For a foreign national, the work permit and visa process runs alongside the search; work authorisation is administered through BIDA for most private-sector employers.

What We Will and Won't Promise You
Search is sold with a lot of confidence. Here is what we will not claim.
- No fixed timeline. A senior hire depends on notice periods and on how narrow the pool is. You get a stage plan, not a guaranteed date.
- No published fee percentage. Search fees vary by seniority, scarcity and whether the employment runs through us afterwards. You get a written quote before we start.
- No candidate database. A relevant senior candidate is found by mapping the market now, not by searching a file from two years ago.
- No guarantee of a hire. Some searches end with the conclusion that the role, the package or the reporting line has to change first. We will tell you that.
We do commit to telling you who we approached, who declined and what reason they gave. That record is yours whether or not you make a hire.

Bangladesh Employment Rules That Affect Senior Hires
General information for foreign companies hiring at a senior level in Bangladesh. It is not legal advice, and rules change, so we confirm the current position for your case in writing.
- Who counts as a "worker" has changed. The Bangladesh Labour (Amendment) Act 2026 revised the definition of "worker" in Section 2(65) of the Bangladesh Labour Act 2006. Law firms read the change differently, but agree that a job title alone no longer decides whether a senior hire is covered by the Act; their actual duties, and management responsibilities given in writing, do. That makes the appointment letter for a senior hire more important than before. Source: Legal 500
- Courts look at the work, not the designation. The Appellate Division held in Dosta Textile Mills Ltd. v. Sudhansu Bikash Nath, 40 DLR (AD) (1988) 45, that a designation alone does not show whether a person is a worker or an employer; the nature of the work and the extent of authority do. Source: Full judgment, 40 DLR (AD) (1988) 45
- Which authority issues a foreign national's work permit depends on where the employer operates. Most private-sector employers apply to the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA). Companies in Export Processing Zones apply to BEPZA, companies in Economic Zones to BEZA, and NGOs go through the NGO Affairs Bureau. Source: OGR Legal
- The work permit clock starts on arrival. The employer must submit the work permit application to BIDA within 15 days of the foreign national arriving in Bangladesh on an E-visa. Source: OGR Legal (same guide as above)
