Rules That Shape Content Monitoring in Bangladesh
Your content policy decides what stays up. These Bangladesh rules shape how we staff, schedule and protect a monitoring team. They change often, so we confirm the current position for your case in writing.
The Bangladesh Labour Act 2006 sets ordinary hours at 8 a day and 48 a week. With overtime, a worker may work up to 10 hours a day and 60 hours a week, averaging no more than 56 hours a week over a year. Overtime is paid at twice the ordinary rate. We plan every shift pattern inside these limits.
Under section 109 of the Labour Act, a woman worker may work between 10 pm and 6 am only with her consent. We record that consent before rostering night shifts on a 24/7 team.
The Personal Data Protection Ordinance 2025 was gazetted in November 2025 and gives organisations about 18 months to comply. Data classed as confidential or restricted must be stored in Bangladesh, so we agree access and storage rules with you during setup.
The Cyber Security Ordinance 2025 replaced the Cyber Security Act 2023 on 21 May 2025. Its offences include certain content involving sexual harassment of women and children, and religious hatred that incites violence. Reviewers flag such posts for removal and escalation.
The Labour Act was amended by an ordinance in November 2025 and again by the Bangladesh Labour (Amendment) Act 2026. Leave and benefit rules changed, so we apply the current text to every reviewer contract.
